Boston part 5 - Birthday and Christmas

So our Christmas season was lovely and pretty chilled out, especially since the true feature of the season is really the big birthday the day before!

Somehow Gma managed to score on the gift giving, unlike us. Maeve had already read both the books we got her, while Gma achieved 2 out of 3 being totally unread new books! The 3d bookmarks were also a big hit.

Name pancakes! Excellent tradition.

Then much decorating was to be done in the favourite colors of blue and green

Much cupcake art was achieved and much cake was eaten. It was a good day for chocolate eating people, especially since Maeve declared we should convert the vanilla cupcake recipe to chocolate.

Circle of teenageness

Rounded out with an amazing and giant Japanese restaurant dinner!

The next festive day, known locally as 'Day after Maeve's birthday' was a lovely day that included gifts, brunch and dinner at lovely people's houses and one other neat thing.

One area of gift giving where we got things right was in a totally coincidental match with Gma's gift - turns out Maeve has never read Pride and Prejudice! Which would have lessened the awesomeness of our gift (a recent YouTube based remake) if not for the fact that Gma took care of that by providing the book, which Maeve immediately started devouring

We went to brunch, which there are photos of, and dinner, which there aren't.

Also also also we got to meet a pigmy hedgehog!
